Initial Fitting
We recommend that you bring your dress to us as early as possible, preferably no later than 6 weeks prior to your wedding date. For your first fitting you would need to bring the shoes and any undergarments that you will be wearing on the day.
How many fittings will I need?
On your first fitting, we will pin your dress to perfection. keeping in mind you still want it practical and comfortable for the big day! We will also discuss any design changes that you might want to make, for example; adding or removing sleeves, re-shaping the neckline or adding embellishment. The alteration world is your oyster!
The number of fittings will depend on how complex the work is required on your dress, this will be advised on your first appointment. All fittings including the consultation are free of charge.
How much will the alterations cost?
The cost of wedding dress alterations varies depending on a couple of factors, this can be the style and construction of the dress, the amount of alterations required, and the complexity of the work. Dresses with lots of layers, or with lace detail / embellishment on the seams being altered can require more work and attention – which brings additional costs.
Who should I bring with me?
You are welcome to bring along a trusted relative or friend, as its always good to have a second opinion. It might also be a good idea to bring along the person who will be helping you get ready on the day, so that they can learn how to do the bustle and any other tricky bits on the big day.
Storing your dress
We are happy to store your dress for you after the alterations have been completed, until you are ready to collect for the big day.
